Matthew Rich-Tolsma

Artist. Educator. Organisational consultant. I work with leaders, organisations, and learning communities to deepen critical reflection, foster ethical collaboration, and build more just, creative, and connected ways of working and living.

Welcome. My work unfolds at the intersection of art, education, healing, and social change. As an artist-educator, organisational consultant and therapist, I lead transformative processes that invite deep reflection, restore connection, and reimagine the processes of relating that shape our lives. Grounded in decolonial scholarship and relational practice, I work across sectors and continents to support individuals, institutions, and communities in navigating complexity, addressing historical and collective trauma, and cultivating more just, vibrant, and life-affirming futures.
My leadership attends to the emotional, ethical, and political dimensions of change; supporting both personal healing and collective shifts in how we relate, learn, and lead together.

His deep knowledge and understanding of the subtleties of complex relationships combined with his amazing listening skills were extremely helpful in moving complex projects ahead, where it was difficult to find a solution.

Workspace Social Sculpture

Artistic Research, Dialogue, & Policy Development

Workspace Social Sculpture is a practice-based research and consulting institute grounded in artistic inquiry, dialogical process, and critical pedagogy. Bridging the arts, academia, and organisational life, the workspace supports institutions and communities to engage with complex social questions through embodied research, collective reflection, and experimental forms of policy development. Our work reimagines knowledge-making as a shared, creative act—one that attends to justice, relationality, and the emergent nature of change.

Nonviolence Response Group

Peacebuilding, Reconciliation, & Mediation

The Nonviolence Response Group is a collective of practitioners working at the intersection of conflict engagement, political education, and relational practice. Grounded in Nonviolent Communication, restorative justice, trauma-informed methods, and systemic change strategies, we work alongside communities and organisations to explore the roots of conflict and foster cultures of dignity, accountability, and reconciliation. Through facilitation, training, and research, we offer critical skills and frameworks for living nonviolence in complex contexts.

Leading Learning & Changing Conversations

I offer coaching, consulting, and facilitation through public speaking, training, and dialogue-based learning focused on leadership, learning, and justice. With experience across higher education, civil society, and the corporate sector, I support individuals and organisations to navigate complexity with clarity and purpose. Drawing on critical pedagogy, decolonial insight, group analysis, and embodied practice, my work centres lived experience and cultivates strategic reflection, cultural change, and values-based leadership.
